Singapore Comic Con (SGCC) 2019 happened over the weekend on 7 - 8 December at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre!

Attendees enjoyed a wide array of exhibitions and exciting spaces such as a GGXP Zone, Artist Alley, gaming tournaments, exclusive launches, panel discussions and exhibitions which made up the dynamic mix of activities that sprawled across the Expo.

The star-studded guest line-up includes:
Comic creators - "Greg Capullo" who’s the artist on the best-selling and highly acclaimed BATMAN series for DC Comics, and "Andy Kubert", best known for his work at Marvel Comics, specifically the company's X-Men titles.

YouTube creators - The gaming and comedy sketch channel "Viva la Dirt League", a New Zealand trio YouTube creators serving up comedy sketch videos like their RPG inspired 'Epic NPC Man', 'PUBG Logic' based on the popular Player Unknowns Battlegrounds, and their comedy series 'Bored' detailing the lives of a group of crazy retail workers. These guys might just be the ones you're looking for if you're planning to get a flat-clicker ;)

Several other highlights of the event includes Maxsoft and Project EXT hosting an exclusive Pokémon tournament with trainers battling it out in the Pokémon Video and Trading Card games.

LEGO had its global unveiling of the world's first 2020 Modular Creator Expert, the highly-anticipated 2020 Modular Building Set.

And to get the crowd hyped up even further, Singapore's Pro Wrestling had professional wrestlers perform matches in the boxing ring right in the halls of SGCC!

In the gaming zone, PVP Esports at Singapore Comic Con by Singtel held a Corporate League Final as regional teams battled it out in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Dota 2.

"Alodia Gosiengfiao" who’s a cosplayer and celebrity streamer, and "Topson" the midlaner for back-to-back champions OG at Dota 2’s premier competition; The International!

“Unstable Network” (literally their team name) took the competition by storm and walked away as the Champions of the PVP Campus League Grand Finals 2019 with a grand prize of SGD $5,000 and 3,000 Diamonds per player.

On the Cosplay competition scene, “Danniel Adi Putra” emerged on top and was crowned as the overall champion for the Championships of Cosplay 2019. He will go on to represent SGCC at the prestigious cosplay competition at Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) in 2020!

Attendees were spoiled with choices of merchandise featuring toys and collectibles from XM Studios, Tokidoki, Mighty Jaxx and the creators at Artist Alley.

Conclusion:

The two-day hit event came to a close after drawing in an estimated 55,000 attendees who took home prizes, merchandises and precious memories! It might not be quite similar to San Diego Comic Con, but it was a Comic Con truly made for the Asia region of the globe.
