Shinchou Yuusha: Kono Yuusha ga Ore Tueee Kuse ni Shinchou Sugiru
We’re sure this is what most RPG veterans think of when restocking from the shop in their on-going adventures. Needless to say, one might consider this as being overly cautious. Then we have Seiya, the main protagonist of “Cautious Hero: The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious”(この勇者が俺TUEEEくせに慎重すぎる Kono Yūsha ga Ore Tsuē Kuse ni Shinchō Sugiru), as the title implies is being way too cautious during his quest to defeat the demon lord alongside his Goddess companion, Ristarte. One might think that Seiya is being overly cautious due to him being mediocre but in reality, he is your typical hardcore grinder who does the same quest over and over just to overpower a beginner’s level boss.
We start off the series with the Goddess of Healing, Rista (short for Ristarte), tasked to summon a Hero from another world (yes, this is an Isekai “異世界” genre) to save Gaeabrande/ Gairbrunde from the destruction of the Demon Lord. After clearing through a list of heroes from her selection, she finally decides to summon Seiya who seemed to have much better stats on his own. Upon being summoned, Seiya is quick to be wary of his surroundings and begins to question everything, including Ristarte. We soon realize Seiya has an overly-cautious nature, from overstocking items to absolutely destroying a Slime monster just to make sure it’s dead. He had to demolish that single Slime with four Atomic Split Slashes and four Hell’s Fire, it’s almost certain he went for more after those as well. It was after this encounter that Rista realized Seiya’s more than meets the eye as he is actually overpowered at the very beginning of the anime but just overly-cautious in nature. There was a point in the story where Seiya was so overpowered that he dismisses his party members initially, but later recruits them as “luggage carriers” just to give them purpose in contributing to his party. And so began the misadventures of Rista, Seiya, Mash, and Elulu, to save the world from the Demon Lord.

ATOMIC SPLIT SLASH! |
ANIMATION
If you’re wondering why the animation seems rather familiar, that is because it is made by studio White Fox, the same studio that produced much-renowned anime series such as, Goblin Slayer, Re: Zero, Akame Ga Kill, Steins; Gate and etc. The art style is fairly similar to the mentioned titles with an added sprinkles of cartoonish expressions from the characters, mostly shown from Rista. It’s worth to highlight although the colors used from this animation is fairly innocent, there are some scenes where Seiya overpowers his foes at times which made the genre looked more of a Shonen-styled anime.

CHARACTERS
The relationship between Seiya and Rista is what drives the comedy factor throughout the show. Their personalities and behavior feel like a complete mismatch and yet they complement each other’s weaknesses. Seiya is someone who can be seen as cold and narcissistic upon meeting any new characters. However as the story develops, he slowly opens up to his party members while keeping his overly-cautious nature in check.

Rista, someone who is clumsy and seemingly naive, begins to be more wary of her surroundings after watching Seiya cautiously planned out every enemy encounter over time. With the introduction of Mash and Elulu joining their party and Rista introducing many other goddesses to help aid the party by providing “special training”, we continue to see the growth of these two characters as each adventure progresses.

United Divine Realm
|
This is our next favorite Isekai Comedic Anime, less on the Isekai part and more of the comedic part. The setting seems to take place in your typical fantasy world where gods and monsters co-exist with humanity.
One of the most interesting settings shown in this fantasy world is where the flow of time is slower between the United Divine Realm and Gaeabrande (roughly 10 minutes in Gaeabrande is 16 hours on the Divine Realm). This world factor allows our heroes to have multiple training montage sessions which enabled Seiya to always plan out his strategy and be “perfectly ready” for any upcoming battles.

Tit For Tat by Myth & Roid |
The opening for this Anime is composed by MYTH & ROID titled “TIT FOR TAT”, an eccentric rock genre that really pumps your blood before the show begins. The ending on the other hand is orchestrated by Riko Azuna titled “Be Perfect, Plz”, a much more gentle and cute approach in contrast from the opening, almost something you would see in an Idol Anime series such as Love Live.
Conclusion
If you're looking for the next anime that is similar to Konosuba featuring Aqua 2.0, this is a show you do not want to miss out on. With the Isekai genre booming throughout the anime industry, finding this gem in a dime a dozen is truly "god's blessing on this wonderful world" ;)
